According to the staff at Cork Tree Creative, in their business, no two days are alike. This team of four, seasoned marketing professionals face some of the largest, sometimes strangest and most challenging marketing projects with flair, making each day different and usually very exciting.

A full service marketing house, Cork Tree Creative provides marketing, advertising, public relations, graphic design, website design and all aspects of online marketing including social media consulting. No project is too big or too small for this team who prides itself on having a full scope of in-house capabilities so they can see a project from start to finish, all the while keeping tract of budget and deadlines.

The shop’s owners, Jan Carpenter and Laura Reed, come from different sides of marketing experience, one a graphic designer and the other a seasoned PR pro. This diversity in skill set is definitely to their advantage says Carpenter.

“We are a one-stop shop, which many of our clients believe is a huge asset since they never have to wonder what the status is of a project and who will be handling the work. While most of our competitors outsource much of their design or writing work, our team works cohesively making projects flow more seamlessly, with careful attention to budget,” said Carpenter.

Carpenter and Reed met nearly 15 years ago while working simultaneously for a St. Louis based PR firm. Reed says the business was built on a serious foundation of “Friendship and a lot of laughs.” She says, “We all share in the same work ethic and willingness to go over and beyond for our clients. We have a strong sense of customer service built into our personalities. Simply put, we aim to please. We also depend heavily on the support and creativity of our public relations consultant Cindy Sorgea and our director of business development, Nicole Dicks. We owe them both a tremendous amount of gratitude for helping us sustain through a tight economy and for coming out even stronger and happier than we were before.”

When it comes to the industries they serve, Cork Tree Creative’s client list is very diverse. From financial institutions and medical groups to brownfield redevelopment companies and attorneys, the team gets up to speed on each account as if it was their own business and makes recommendations most suited to the company’s demographics.

Carpenter says, “Our ability to go to school on our client’s business and put ourselves in the shoes of their customers has made us successful in getting results for our clients. And happy clients are what get us through the day.”

Cork Tree Creative is also dedicated to giving back to the community. You can see their work all over town as promotional managers and one of the top billing sponsors for the 2012 Edwardsville Route 66 Festival. The team has pitched in on developing promotional materials, media relations, website development, advertising and more for this year’s festival on June 7, 8 and 9. They also lend their time to Family Hospice in Belleville, the Boy Scouts of America, Lewis & Clark Council and the Madison-Bond Workforce Investment Board.
