With more than 118,000 patients annually relying on Anderson Hospital for their health care, it is hard to imagine our community without an area hospital. Anderson Hospital is making a difference today thanks to the grassroots effort of many dedicated people spanning decades. This legacy in the establishment of Anderson Hospital has remained a key element in its mission and vision.

Since opening in January 1977, their campus has grown in size and services and remains the premiere place for families to celebrate the miracle of life! In 2011, nearly 1900 babies were born in the Pavilion for Women, and since opening in 1977, more than 34,000 babies have been born at Anderson Hospital! Anderson Hospital’s Emergency Services department has more than doubled in size, now offering 24/7 Cardinal Glennon Pediatrics – specialized emergency care for kids – and four ExpressCare locations for those suffering from everyday injuries and illnesses that are not life-threatening. These services combined treated more than 50,000 patients in 2011.

Throughout its history, Anderson Hospital has responded to the needs of Madison County residents. Each new service and every expansion has been in direct response to community needs. Some of our most recent additions include: 24/7 Cardinal Glennon Pediatrics, 24/7 Cardiac Cath Team, Chest Pain Center and DaVinci Surgical System.

The hospital has more than 1100 employees and provided in excess of $5.3 million of charity care in 2011. It also serves as an educational site for numerous healthcare students from various colleges and universities. Anderson Hosptial is particularly proud of the outstanding relationship with SIUE for nursing and other academic majors.

Anderson is also proud of the relationships that are in place with the chambers of commerce and other civic organizations in the communities the hospital serves. The board, medical staff, hospital staff and auxiliary members work together to provide outstanding care to our patients and their families. In fact, Anderson Hospital was recently ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the top six hospitals in the St. Louis metro area.

Anderson Hospital has been a proud member of the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce since 1986. Chamber membership offers invaluable opportunities to get involved in the local business community and build a network of neighbors whose goal is to build a healthy, growing local economy and improve the quality of life in our community.
